Most Christians know that we need faith. But what exactly is faith, what can we do with it, and how do we get it? When I was younger, I believed that if I had enough faith, I would be invincible from all problems. However, as I got older and learned more about faith, I discovered that it is not quite like that. While having faith does overcome all problems, faith does not make me invincible like superman. Rather, faith makes me a child led by my father, God.
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Romans 10:17 KJV
[17] So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

[7] By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
[8] By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Matthew 4:5-6 KJV
[5] Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
[6] And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Psalm 91:10-12 KJV
[10] There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
[11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
[12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Matthew 4:7 KJV
[7] Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Mark 4:10-12 NLT
[10] Later, when Jesus was alone with the twelve disciples and with the others who were gathered around, they asked him what the parables meant.
[11] He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secret of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables for everything I say to outsiders,
[12] so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled: ‘When they see what I do, they will learn nothing. When they hear what I say, they will not understand. Otherwise, they will turn to me and be forgiven.'”
Mark 4:23 KJV
[23] If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
Luke 9:1-2,6 NLT
[1] One day Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases.
[2] Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
[6] So they began their circuit of the villages, preaching the Good News and healing the sick.
Matthew 17:14-20 NKJV
[14] And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying,
[15] “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.
[16] So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”
[17] Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”
[18] And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
[19] Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”
[20] So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 14:26-31 NKJV
[26] And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

[28] And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
[29] So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
[30] But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
[31] And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

[4] Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
[5] The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
John 5:30 KJV
[30] I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 15:4-7 KJV
[4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
[5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
[6] If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
[7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

[5] And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
[6] And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
[8] And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
